Waterproof fibreglass casting

Geelong Hand Therapy offers waterproof fibreglass casting for simple fractures of the wrist. Our waterproof casts are a more convenient option than traditional Plaster of Paris casts as they can be fully submerged in water, allowing patients to shower, bathe and complete hand hygiene without the worry of compromising their cast. They are ideal for the summer months and for children, and are available in a range of colours. We offer both cast application and removal.

Waterproof fibreglass casting is ideal for:

• Distal radius fractures
• Scaphoid fractures
• Ulna fractures
• Fractures of the elbow, including radial head and olecranon

Therapists at Geelong Hand Therapy can also use casting as a therapy method to correct contractures such as fixed flexion deformities of the elbow.
